<html><body><h3 data-start="283" data-end="302">Role Overview</h3> <p data-start="303" data-end="710">The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves as a field-based scientific and clinical expert, engaging healthcare professionals (HCPs), key opinion leaders (KOLs), researchers, and other stakeholders to advance understanding of rare diseases and associated therapeutic approaches. This role supports scientific exchange, evidence generation, and clinical initiatives with the goal of improving patient outcomes.</p> <p data-start="712" data-end="1003">The MSL maintains deep expertise in disease states, therapeutic options, competitive landscapes, and regulatory guidance, and delivers medical information in a fair, balanced, and compliant manner. Strong scientific acumen, relationship-building skills, and business awareness are essential.</p> <hr data-start="1005" data-end="1008" /> <h3 data-start="1010" data-end="1036">Key Responsibilities</h3> <ul data-start="1037" data-end="2248"> <li data-start="1037" data-end="1178"> <p data-start="1039" data-end="1178">Act as a credible scientific and clinical expert, engaging HCPs and KOLs in peer-to-peer scientific discussions related to rare diseases.</p> </li> <li data-start="1179" data-end="1322"> <p data-start="1181" data-end="1322">Build and sustain long-term, strategic relationships with external experts and internal stakeholders, serving as a trusted medical partner.</p> </li> <li data-start="1323" data-end="1454"> <p data-start="1325" data-end="1454">Maintain comprehensive knowledge of assigned disease states, therapeutic approaches, and evolving clinical and scientific data.</p> </li> <li data-start="1455" data-end="1581"> <p data-start="1457" data-end="1581">Stay current on emerging research, clinical practice trends, and treatment guidelines within designated areas of interest.</p> </li> <li data-start="1582" data-end="1708"> <p data-start="1584" data-end="1708">Support evidence generation activities, including discussions around research strategies and clinical trial participation.</p> </li> <li data-start="1709" data-end="1849"> <p data-start="1711" data-end="1849">Align activities with U.S. Medical strategy, objectives, and tactics through participation in cross-functional initiatives and projects.</p> </li> <li data-start="1850" data-end="1945"> <p data-start="1852" data-end="1945">Represent the organization at scientific congresses, advisory boards, and medical meetings.</p> </li> <li data-start="1946" data-end="2034"> <p data-start="1948" data-end="2034">Educate internal teams on disease states, clinical data, and therapeutic guidelines.</p> </li> <li data-start="2035" data-end="2141"> <p data-start="2037" data-end="2141">Contribute to publication planning, medical information resources, and scientific content development.</p> </li> <li data-start="2142" data-end="2248"> <p data-start="2144" data-end="2248">Capture and communicate medical insights using approved systems to inform medical and clinical strategy.</p> </li> </ul> <hr data-start="2250" data-end="2253" /> <h3 data-start="2255" data-end="2275">Qualifications</h3> <p data-start="2277" data-end="2291"><strong data-start="2277" data-end="2289">Required</strong></p> <ul data-start="2292" data-end="3026"> <li data-start="2292" data-end="2373"> <p data-start="2294" data-end="2373">Advanced scientific or clinical degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP, or equivalent).</p> </li> <li data-start="2374" data-end="2520"> <p data-start="2376" data-end="2389">Experience:</p> <ul data-start="2392" data-end="2520"> <li data-start="2392" data-end="2473"> <p data-start="2394" data-end="2473">Minimum of 2 years in an MSL or comparable scientific field role (MSL level).</p> </li> <li data-start="2476" data-end="2520"> <p data-start="2478" data-end="2520">Minimum of 5 years for Senior MSL level.</p> </li> </ul> </li> <li data-start="2521" data-end="2663"> <p data-start="2523" data-end="2663">Clinical or scientific experience in rare diseases; experience in lysosomal, metabolic, or rare neurological disorders strongly preferred.</p> </li> <li data-start="2664" data-end="2752"> <p data-start="2666" data-end="2752">Strong scientific communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.</p> </li> <li data-start="2753" data-end="2850"> <p data-start="2755" data-end="2850">Demonstrated business acumen and strong understanding of compliance and regulatory standards.</p> </li> <li data-start="2851" data-end="2959"> <p data-start="2853" data-end="2959">Ability to travel extensively (approximately 60&#8211;75%), including overnight and occasional weekend travel.</p> </li> <li data-start="2960" data-end="3026"> <p data-start="2962" data-end="3026">Valid driver&#8217;s license and ability to operate a company vehicle.</p> </li> </ul> <p data-start="3028" data-end="3043"><strong data-start="3028" data-end="3041">Preferred</strong></p> <ul data-start="3044" data-end="3323"> <li data-start="3044" data-end="3112"> <p data-start="3046" data-end="3112">Deep subject matter expertise in rare disease therapeutic areas.</p> </li> <li data-start="3113" data-end="3208"> <p data-start="3115" data-end="3208">Experience across lysosomal disorders, metabolic diseases, or rare neurological conditions.</p> </li> <li data-start="3209" data-end="3323"> <p data-start="3211" data-end="3323">Interest or background in data science or analytics to support insight generation and strategic decision-making.</p> </li> </ul></body></html>
