The Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) – Hematology is a field-based role that serves as a key member of the Medical Affairs team. This individual will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and clinical experts in hematology, supporting the development and execution of late-phase (including Phase 3) clinical programs, product launches, insight generation, and medical education initiatives. The Sr. MSL will also play an integral role in advisory board support, conference planning, and clinical trial education and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain scientific relationships with hematology experts, clinical investigators, and treatment center staff.
  • Serve as a regional scientific resource and field-based expert on company products and clinical programs in hematology.
  • Support Phase 3 clinical trials by assisting with site identification, education, enrollment efforts, and protocol training in collaboration with Clinical Development and Clinical Operations.
  • Actively participate in the planning, development, and execution of launch readiness activities and post-launch scientific support.
  • Collect and communicate actionable medical insights from the field to internal stakeholders to inform strategy and decision-making.
  • Support advisory board planning and execution by identifying key advisors, developing content, and facilitating scientific exchange.
  • Attend and contribute to major hematology-focused medical congresses and conferences; support internal debriefs and competitive intelligence efforts.
  • Provide scientific education to HCPs, patient advocacy groups, and clinical site personnel on disease state, mechanism of action, clinical data, and study rationale.
  • Contribute to internal training programs and cross-functional collaboration efforts with Medical Communications, Clinical Development, and Commercial teams.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of current scientific literature and clinical trends in hematology to ensure credible and balanced medical discussions.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced scientific or clinical degree required (PhD, PharmD, MD, NP, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with at least 3 years in a Medical Science Liaison or equivalent field-based role.
  • Demonstrated expertise and network in hematology; experience with B-cell malignancies or other hematologic diseases strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting Phase 3 clinical trials and successful product launches.
  • Proven ability to engage with KOLs, generate actionable insights, and work cross-functionally in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Must be comfortable with 50% or more travel to support scientific engagements, clinical sites, and conferences.

Location:
Field-based, U.S. travel required (~50%).
