The Senior Director, Medical Information will lead the strategy and operations of the Medical Information function, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant responses to inquiries from healthcare professionals, patients, and internal stakeholders. This role requires a seasoned leader with at least 8 years of industry experience, a proven track record of team leadership, and expertise in implementing innovative technologies to enhance the delivery of medical information services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the global medical information strategy aligned with company objectives and regulatory standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Medical Information professionals.
  • Ensure the creation and maintenance of scientifically accurate, balanced, and up-to-date standard response documents and FAQs.
  • Monitor and analyze trends in medical inquiries to inform internal stakeholders (e.g., Medical Affairs, Commercial, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory).
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Commercial, and IT to support product launches and lifecycle management.
  • Drive the implementation and optimization of emerging technologies (e.g., AI-driven chatbots, content automation platforms, CRM systems) to improve response efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
  • Develop and track KPIs to monitor performance, quality, and compliance of medical information services.
  • Ensure global compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies (e.g., FDA, EMA, ICH).
  • Lead vendor management activities related to outsourced Medical Information services, if applicable.
  • Represent Medical Information on cross-functional projects and during audits/inspections as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (PharmD, MD, PhD, or equivalent) required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Medical Information or related Medical Affairs roles within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience managing direct reports and/or matrixed teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and inspire high-performing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable regulatory guidelines and standards (FDA, PhRMA, EFPIA, etc.).
  • Proven experience implementing or overseeing digital/technology solutions to improve Medical Information operations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Salary Range - $220,000 - $235,000
